A 14-year-old boy from Bhadra village in Lakhpat taluka, Kutch, sustained minor injuries after his mobile phone exploded in his pocket while he was walking on Saturday.
The victim, Rajveer Pawar, was carrying his Motorola phone in his trouser pocket when it suddenly burst, causing burns on his thigh. The device then fell to the ground.
According to police, the phone had been recently charged, and it is suspected that overheating may have triggered the explosion.
Earlier in October, a similar incident occurred in Ahmedabad, where three students suffered burn injuries in a lithium battery blast at a flat on L J Campus Road in Sarkhej. Emergency teams managed to douse the fire before it spread further.
