The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in collaboration with the South Asian Association for Gastronomy (SAAG), will host the International Food Festival ‘Food for Thought Fest’ from November 13 to 16 at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre.
The festival will bring together food lovers and entertainment enthusiasts from India, Nepal, Spain, and the Netherlands, offering a global culinary experience.
Highlights include live cooking workshops and food shows by renowned South Asian master chefs. Two themed food courts will anchor the event — ‘A Taste of Luxury’, featuring signature dishes from luxury hotels, and ‘The Regional Flavour’, serving diverse regional cuisines in a vibrant street-food style.
Three special pavilions will add flavour to the fest:
- Luxury Pavilion – showcasing premium hotel delicacies.
- Spiritual Pavilion – offering ‘Bhog Prasad’ from Puri’s Jagannath Temple.
- Coffee Pavilion – featuring live roasting, brewing sessions, and workshops.
Notable participants include food critic Rashmi Uday Singh, chefs Abhijit Saha and Gautam Maharshi, Nepalese author Rohini Rana, and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Pushpesh Pant.
Designed as an interactive and learning experience, the festival aims to inspire hotel management students, food bloggers, and entrepreneurs, providing insights into South Asian cuisines, culinary trends, and innovations.
