Sumit Hasrajani bags AIR 10 in Final; Kirti Sharma secures AIR 2 in Intermediate
Ahmedabad students have once again brought laurels to the city by earning top ranks in the Chartered Accountants (CA) Final and Intermediate examinations conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
The results, announced on Monday, saw six students from Ahmedabad feature among the top 50 at the national level in both categories. In the CA Final, Sumit Hasrajani secured an All India Rank (AIR) 10, while in the Intermediate exam, Kirti Sharma achieved AIR 2.
According to the ICAI Ahmedabad chapter, the city’s CA Final pass percentage rose to 23%, marking a notable improvement from previous sessions. The Foundation exam pass rate also climbed from 13% to 18.9% this year.
The ICAI conducted both the Final and Intermediate exams in September, with results released simultaneously. In the CA Final:
- Group I: 236 of 1,007 students passed (23.44%)
- Group II: 102 of 375 students passed (27.20%)
- Both Groups: 124 of 535 students passed (23.18%)
Nationally, the CA Final pass rate stood at 24.66% for Group I, 25.26% for Group II, and 16.23% for both groups — slightly lower than May’s 18.75%.
Interestingly, while the all-India pass rate dipped by around 2%, Ahmedabad’s performance rose from 19.35% in May to 23.19% in September, reaffirming the city’s growing academic excellence in the field of accountancy.
