Ahmedabad Traffic Police have initiated legal action against Gujarati actors Tiku Talsania and Prem Gadhvi after a video showing them performing a risky road stunt during the promotion of their upcoming film Misri went viral on social media.
The video, filmed on Science City Road, shows the actors performing a vehicle-based stunt that drew large crowds and caused traffic congestion. Officials confirmed that the promotional activity was carried out without prior police or road authority permission.
Both actors appeared before the A Division Traffic Police Station on Thursday for questioning. Authorities said they will be formally arrested under relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act for performing an unauthorised stunt that disrupted public traffic.
“Performing such acts on public roads without permission is a serious offence. After recording their statements, both actors will be arrested as per due procedure,” a senior traffic officer said.
The police have also sought details from the film’s production team and event organisers to identify who authorised the stunt and whether any safety measures were taken.
The incident has sparked widespread debate online about the increasing use of high-risk public stunts for film promotions. An investigation is ongoing to identify others involved in organising the unauthorised event.
