The new winter schedule at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) has taken off with a strong boost, featuring new international carriers such as Iran Air, Fly Arystan, and Singapore Airlines commencing operations. The schedule, effective from October 26, 2025, to March 28, 2026, also includes expanded frequencies from Thai Vietjet and Vietjet Airlines.
Airport officials expect an overall 30% increase in flight movements compared to the summer schedule, driven by festive travel, the upcoming wedding season, and rising demand from the NRI community.
“The NRI season has begun, and many Gujaratis living abroad will be returning for family visits and weddings. To meet this surge, new international airlines are starting operations at Ahmedabad airport,” said an official familiar with the development.
New routes to Mashhad, Baku, Almaty
Among the highlights, Iran Air will launch flights to Mashhad, while Singapore Airlines has expanded its services from five to seven flights a week. Fly Arystan is expected to begin operations to Almaty, and Azerbaijan Airlines is likely to start flights to Baku.
Additionally, Thai Vietjet will launch Ahmedabad–Bangkok flights from December 4, and Vietjet will start daily flights to Danang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City. SpiceJet will also begin daily operations to Sharjah and Jeddah.
On the domestic front, Akasa Air will introduce a thrice-weekly one-stop service from Ahmedabad via Kolkata to Port Blair. Other domestic connections are being expanded to cities such as Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and Dibrugarh.
The expanded winter schedule marks a significant step in strengthening Ahmedabad’s connectivity—both across India and with key international destinations.
