The Ahmedabad Metro Rail will operate for shorter hours on Diwali day, October 20, 2025, as a precautionary measure against safety risks posed by fireworks and festive activities.Currently, metro services run from 6:20 am to 10:00 pm, but on Diwali, operations will end at 7:00 pm, according to the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC). The decision aligns with similar steps taken by other metro systems across India during major festivals to ensure passenger safety.As per the GMRC notification, the last train departures from terminal stations on the Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar corridors will take place between 6:18 pm and 7:10 pm.

- Vastral Gam → Thaltej Gam: 7:05 pm
- Thaltej Gam → Vastral Gam: 7:10 pm
- Motera Stadium → APMC: 7:10 pm
- APMC → Motera Stadium: 7:10 pm
- APMC → Sachivalaya: 6:24 pm
- Sachivalaya → APMC: 6:24 pm
- Gift City → APMC: 6:18 pm
Metro officials have advised commuters to plan their travel in advance and avoid last-minute rushes. Regular service hours will resume on October 21.The GMRC emphasized that the temporary change is a safety-driven decision to ensure smooth operations amid widespread fireworks and reduced visibility along metro routes.
