A disturbing incident at Jabalpur Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh has gone viral after a video surfaced showing a samosa vendor harassing a passenger over a failed PhonePe transaction.
The video, widely circulated on social media, shows the passenger stepping off a train to buy samosas. As the train begins to move, his digital payment fails. When he tries to leave without taking the food, the vendor grabs him by the collar, refusing to let him go without payment. In a panic, the passenger removes his smartwatch and gives it to the vendor before running to catch the moving train.
Incident Details
The incident took place on Friday, October 17, around 5:30 PM at Platform No. 5 of Jabalpur Railway Station. The passenger reportedly tried paying through PhonePe, but the payment didn’t go through. The vendor accused him of wasting time and forced him to settle the amount before leaving.
Vendor Detained by RPF
The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Jabalpur confirmed that the vendor has been identified and detained by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The DRM also stated that the vendor’s license is being cancelled for his misconduct.
DRM’s Statement
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), DRM Jabalpur wrote:
“The vendor has been identified and a case has been registered against him by RPF. He has been taken into custody, and action is being taken to cancel his license.”
The incident has sparked outrage online, with many users calling for stricter regulation and better monitoring of vendors at railway stations to ensure passenger safety.
