A video has emerged showing the son of senior official Sameer Shah allegedly hosting a liquor party at the SAMS 49 farmhouse in Surat’s Althan area. The footage shows him consuming alcohol openly and confronting police officers who tried to intervene.
Congress leaders slammed the BJP-led Gujarat government, calling the incident a “complete failure of governance,” and highlighting the contradiction of the state’s proclaimed dry status. They also pointed to the growing impunity among relatives of influential officials.
Meanwhile, according a media report, chemical businessman Samir Shah and his associate Vraj Shah were arrested after liquor was seized outside K’Antarvan restaurant on Thursday, October 16.
