Passengers travelling from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport have been urged to arrive early during the Diwali holiday period to avoid delays caused by heavy footfall and tightened security checks.
According to an advisory issued by airport authorities, travellers should verify their domestic and international flight schedules on respective airline websites before heading to the airport.
On regular days, the airport handles around 38,000 passengers daily, but officials expect a 15–20% surge during the festive week, with numbers likely to exceed 40,000 passengers a day.
The CISF has also intensified security screening, which may extend the check-in process. Passengers have therefore been advised to reach the airport well in advance of their departure time.
