Porbandar-based cake decorator and sugar artist Dhvani Hindocha has set a Guinness World Record for creating the largest display of unique sugar-paste figurines, totaling 204 pieces.
Dhvani, introduced to the art by her aunt Mrudula Hindocha, said she attempted the record to honour her aunt’s teachings, their family cake business, and the rich culture of India through edible art.
An alumna of the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Ahmedabad, Dhvani crafted figurines showcasing traditional Indian attire, regional professions, and everyday life moments.
Reflecting on her achievement, she said, “I feel ecstatic to have achieved this record. My aunt has been a constant guide, and my family’s unwavering support made this possible. Bringing cakes to life through my characters and receiving such appreciation feels truly surreal.”
