In Ahmedabad’s Sarkhej area, three students were injured early Wednesday morning when a lithium battery they were working on exploded at a Savvy Strata apartment on L J Campus Road. The incident occurred around 3 am, triggering a fire that was quickly controlled by emergency teams. The students sustained burn injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Apartment residents reported the blast to the police. The incident has also sparked local concerns over the growing number of paying guest accommodations in residential societies, with many claiming that over 90% of flats in the area are being used as PGs.
