With Diwali just around the corner, heavy festive traffic led to major jams at several key junctions across the city on Monday. The ISKCON Crossing on SG Highway witnessed long snarls as shoppers thronged nearby malls and markets for last-minute festive purchases.
Traffic police were deployed at major intersections to manage the rush, but congestion continued through the evening hours. Similar slow-moving traffic was also reported from Satellite, Prahladnagar, and C.G. Road, where markets remained crowded with Diwali shoppers.
Officials have urged citizens to plan their travel routes in advance and use public transport where possible to avoid delays during the festive rush.
