Gujarat University (GU) has reportedly issued a show-cause notice to Shri Narayana College of Commerce (SNCC) following allegations of overcharging students for two courses.
According to the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the college collected ₹2,200 more than the approved amount, violating the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) norms.
“By misleading students, the college charged 7,500 as tuition fees and 2,200 as other fees, totalling 9,700 — which goes against Gujarat University’s FRC rules,” NSUI alleged.
As per GU regulations, the tuition fee is set at 5,750, with an additional 1,750 permissible, making the total 7,500. NSUI has urged the university to take strict action against the college.
