Bopal-based Satyamev Jayate International School has sparked controversy after asking girl students not to wear leggings or other leg-covering bottom wear with the school uniform.
A few parents reportedly approached the school on Wednesday, demanding that the order be withdrawn.
While school officials were unavailable for comment, they informed the District Education Officer (DEO) Rural that only three to four parents had objected, adding that leggings are not part of the prescribed uniform.
Bhagwan Prajapati, in-charge DEO Rural, said, “Changing the uniform for a few objections may not be practical unless at least 50% of parents raise concerns. An education inspector will visit the school to look into the matter.”
