At the launch of Cyber Awareness Month October 2025 on Friday, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar shared a shocking personal experience to highlight the dangers of online gaming. The event was held at the Maharashtra DGP office and attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and senior police officials.
According to a media report, Kumar revealed that his teenage daughter Nitara was once asked for nude photos by a stranger while playing an online game. “At first, the person sent polite messages, but when he found out she was a girl, he directly asked her for nude pictures. My daughter immediately quit the game and informed her mother,” Akshay Kumar said.
The actor stressed that such incidents reflect a growing pattern of predators targeting minors online, which can lead to exploitation, extortion, and even cases of suicide.
The awareness campaign will run throughout October, focusing on online safety for children, parents, and schools. CM Fadnavis also urged citizens to remain alert against rising cyber threats.
