Neither dark clouds nor heavy rains could dampen the festive fervour of “Love Dandiya 2025”, organised by the HL College Alumni Association. Held on the lawns of HL College, the Navratri celebration went ahead in true Amdavadi style, with Garba enthusiasts dancing undeterred beneath the rain-soaked skies.
The sudden downpour disrupted several other Garba celebrations in the city, forcing many organisers to cancel their events. Yet, Love Dandiya 2025 was among the few events in Ahmedabad where Garba continued in the open, creating a night to remember.
Rajesh Ravani, President of the HL College Alumni Association, praised the energy and resilience of the participants, saying “The determination of the Garba revellers was inspiring. The rain only added to the magic of the night, turning it into a memorable celebration. Our annual Garba event has always been about joy and unity, and it truly lived up to its name this year. We are thankful to all the participants for making the event a huge hit.”
Talking about the unique spirit of the evening, Ankit Chadrana of Mihir Events & Services, organiser of the event, said, “Love Dandiya 2025 was the one and only place yesterday where Garba happened in the open lawns with unmatched enthusiasm and unrelenting spirit. It reaffirmed that HL College Alumni Association’s Garba remains one of Ahmedabad’s most anticipated Navratri events.”
The evening showed once again that nothing can dim Amdavadis’ devotion to the Goddess or stop them from dancing on Garba tunes.
