To speed up the Unique Disability ID (UDID) registration process, assistance is being extended through civil hospitals, government offices, designated centers, and a dedicated online portal.
The Gujarat Technical Education Department has instructed government institutions to ensure students with disabilities complete their UDID applications. Likewise, Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has directed all affiliated colleges and institutes to strictly follow the guidelines for students seeking admissions under the disability quota.
The UDID system is designed to streamline benefits by replacing multiple documents with a single ID, preventing misuse of fake disability certificates, and establishing a common national database. Officials say this will help ensure fair access to education scholarships, employment reservations, and welfare schemes for eligible beneficiaries.
