Traffic near Sursagar Lake in Vadodara came to a standstill this week over an unusual dispute: a plate of golgappas.
A woman staged a sit-in protest on the road after claiming that a street vendor gave her only four puris instead of six for Rs 20. Refusing to move until she got her “two missing puris,” she blocked vehicles and drew a curious crowd, many of whom recorded the drama on their phones.
When police arrived, the protest turned more emotional as the woman reportedly broke into tears, demanding “fair trade” from the vendor.
Traffic remained disrupted for several hours before officers eventually escorted her away, bringing the bizarre standoff to an end. It is still unclear whether the woman ever got the extra golgappas she fought for.
