In a surprise move, the Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has announced that the Talati final exam will be held on October 14, just a month after the prelims. The provisional answer key was released the very next day.
The quick process for filling 2,389 revenue department posts has given hope to over three lakh aspirants. However, candidates point out that results of many other state recruitment exams remain stuck for years.
Backlog continues
Exams for GPSC Class I & II officer posts were held in early 2024, but results are still pending. Similar delays have affected State Tax Inspector, Range Forest Officer, and Deputy Section Officer recruitments. Even answer keys for recent exams haven’t been released.
Despite the Chief Minister’s directive to clear the backlog, little progress has been made.
Hope on Talati recruitment
Candidates say they are optimistic that the Talati process will be completed quickly, especially since the revenue department is facing staff shortages.
