A birthday celebration at a luxury hotel in Surat turned tragic on Sunday evening when a one-and-a-half-year-old boy, Krishiv, drowned in a decorative pond on the premises.
The incident took place at Euphoria Hotel in Pal area, where over 50 guests had gathered for the function. While his parents and others were inside the banquet hall, Krishiv wandered out and slipped into the pond unnoticed.
He was spotted floating by a guest, and hotel staff rushed to pull him out.The child was taken to hospital but declared dead on arrival. Police confirmed the sequence of events, while experts cautioned parents to remain vigilant during social gatherings to avoid such accidents.
