The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced the Clean Navratri Festival Competition 2025 to promote eco-friendly celebrations. The contest will be held in two categories — residential area garbas and community garbas — with three winners in each. The top prize is ₹31,000.
Participants must avoid single-use plastic and follow waste management rules. Residential societies, flats, pols, streets, towers, and village-level societies can join, while community garbas at party plots, community halls, or open grounds will also be eligible. Online registration is mandatory, and each participant must appoint a nodal person to coordinate with AMC.
Evaluation criteria include:
Green and blue bins for wet and dry waste at venues (available from sub-zone offices).
Waste must be handed over to AMC vehicles; no roadside dumping.
Extra marks for recycled-material decorations and dress codes.
Food stalls must tie up with AMC-authorised waste disposal agencies.
Community garbas must separately collect floral offerings, cloth items, and dry waste in three bins.
Zero Waste theme garbas will get special preference.Winners will be chosen at zonal and city levels by a committee led by the deputy commissioner.
