Navratri in the city is going beyond pet-friendly cafes and hotels—this year, even Garba nights are welcoming four-legged companions. Specially curated events like ‘Paow Wow Ratri’ and ‘Pawratri 2025’ are inviting pet parents to celebrate the nine nights of dance and devotion with their dogs.
Organisers say the trend, now in its third year, is growing rapidly. “Last year, we had 35 dogs and about 80 participants. This year, we expect at least 250-300 people and nearly 80 dogs,” said Vaidehi Bhatt, organiser of Pawratri 2025. With a registration fee of 350 for pet parents and 250 for pets, the event promises traditional flair with a pet-friendly twist.
At Paow Wow Ratri, organiser Karan Shah keeps it simple—entry is ₹300 per person while pets join free. “We want families to bring their pets without restrictions. It’s about creating a social space where both humans and dogs can celebrate together,” he said.
Participants say the events are more than just fun—they are thoughtfully designed. Music is kept at pet-safe levels, ensuring dogs don’t feel stressed. There are also games, competitions, and plenty of opportunities for pets to flaunt customised Navratri outfits.
Regular attendee Parin Patel, who has tailored traditional attire for their dog, shared: “It’s a chance to celebrate culture with our fur babies. Every year, we look forward to it.” Another pet parent, Krishi Agrawal, added: “These events are not only festive but also build a strong community among pet parents.”
With wagging tails, colorful costumes, safe music, and Garba beats, these pet-friendly Navratri nights are creating memories where tradition meets joyful companionship.
