Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad, calling it India’s largest and most modern facility. Highlighting world-class infrastructure like the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium and the upcoming Sardar Patel Sports Complex, Shah said these projects will transform Ahmedabad into the country’s sports capital.
He added that preparations are underway to host 13 international sporting events by 2036, including the 2029 World Police & Fire Games and possibly the 2030 Commonwealth Games. The Union government, Shah said, is also making efforts to bring the 2036 Olympics to Ahmedabad.
