Widespread protests in Nepal have turned violent, with mobs attacking Parliament and the former Prime Minister’s residence, which was set ablaze. His wife is believed to have died in the fire. Both the Prime Minister and the President have since resigned.
Amid the turmoil, several Gujarati students and tourists remain stranded in the neighbouring country. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said on X that the state administration is in constant touch with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure their safe return.
