Ahmedabad’s A Division Traffic Police on Monday cracked down on illegally parked luxury buses along the stretch from Vivekanand Circle to Divyapath School Road and up to the AEC bridge in Memnagar. Several buses were removed, and on-the-spot fines of up to ₹1,000 were issued for indiscriminate parking.
The drive comes after repeated violations despite a police notification prohibiting the entry of luxury buses and heavy vehicles into the city between 8 am and 10 pm. The order, challenged by private bus operators, was upheld by both the Gujarat High Court and the Supreme Court, which confirmed its validity.
