Former Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) Vice Chancellor Vijay Srivastav faces allegations of using a bogus PhD degree. Documents obtained from Bundelkhand University reportedly confirm that the degree he submitted was fake.
Professor Satish Pathak, who had earlier challenged Srivastav’s appointment in the Gujarat High Court, has now written to the MSU Registrar demanding a police complaint and legal action.
Pathak alleged that Srivastav, who served as VC from February 10, 2022, to January 8, 2025, was ineligible for the post and committed a criminal offence by submitting forged documents. He has also called for the cancellation of all decisions taken during Srivastav’s tenure and the recovery of his salary and benefits.
