Heavy rainfall across Gujarat has led to a sharp rise in the inflow at Dharoi Dam, pushing water levels up to 188.18 metres with storage at 82.62% capacity. On Tuesday, authorities issued a high alert for the Sabarmati River as large volumes of water were released downstream.
According to a media report, Currently, 52,358 cusecs of water are being discharged from Dharoi Dam into the Sabarmati, expected to reach Subhash Bridge soon, where a White Signal (Alert) has been declared. In addition, 87,343 cusecs are being released from Sant Sarovar, while 35,326 cusecs are flowing out of the Vasna Barrage, where 27 gates have been opened.
Authorities have urged residents in low-lying areas and nearby villages to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid flooding risks.
