Commuters on the Vadodara-Karjan stretch of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway faced massive delays on Monday as a 10-kilometer-long traffic jam brought the route to a standstill since morning.
The traffic problem, persisting for nearly two years, has worsened in recent days. While jams of 4–5 km were reported over the past two days, today’s gridlock stretched from Por to Jambua on one side, and from Por to Baman village on the other, caused by potholes and narrow bridges.
Vehicles stuck since 8 am were still moving at a snail’s pace even by 10:30 am, highlighting the collapse of traffic management on this busy highway.
