Junagadh witnessed heavy rainfall on Saturday, with 3 inches recorded in just two hours on Girnar mountain. This led to a surge in water inflow from Girnar and Datar hills, causing flooding in Damodar Kund and nearby waterbodies.
A large number of devotees had gathered at Damodar Kund to perform Pitru Tarpan on Amavasya. However, for safety reasons, the administration has banned entry to Damodar Kund, Jatashankar, and Willingdon Dam until the situation improves.

Police security has been tightened at Damodar Kund to prevent pilgrims from entering. Officials said devotees will only be allowed once water levels recede and conditions are safe.
Meanwhile, several low-lying areas in Junagadh and nearby regions have also been flooded, disrupting daily life. Authorities have urged people to remain cautious and avoid rivers and streams.
