India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has gifted his England series jersey to city-based dentist Dr Brijesh Patel after receiving dental treatment at his clinic.
The prized No. 8 shirt, worn by Jadeja during his record-breaking run in the recently concluded England Test series, now rests with Dr Patel of Vardan Dental Studio, Sindhu Bhavan. Expressing gratitude after his treatment, the Jamnagar-born cricketer presented the jersey as a keepsake.
For Dr Patel, it’s more than memorabilia. “It’s not just the jersey, but his happiness and recognition that mean the world to me. It represents his spirit and memories of an incredible series. This is my most treasured moment,” he told Mirror.
Jadeja, who recently completed 1,151 consecutive days as ICC’s No. 1 Test all-rounder—a record streak longer than legends Jacques Kallis, Kapil Dev and Imran Khan—shone with the bat in England. Batting at No. 6 or lower, he became the first Indian to score six 50-plus knocks in a Test series in England, tallying 516 runs at an average of 86.00, with one century and five half-centuries. His tally stands as the third-highest ever in an away series for a lower-order batsman, behind Garry Sobers and Wasim Raja.
Dr Patel, president of the Gujarat State Dental Council, recently inaugurated his new clinic in the presence of CM Bhupendra Patel. Over the years, he has treated prominent personalities, including the CM’s family, and recalls receiving blessings from Pujyashree Deepakbhai of the Dada Bhagwan sect after a surgery nine years ago.
