A video of a man’s unexpected face-off with a lion outside a cement factory in Gujarat has gone viral—ending with both bolting in opposite directions.
According to a media report, the incident happened around 10 pm near the gate of Aadhar Cement Factory in Patapur village, Dungarpur, Junagadh district. The footage shows the man stepping out of the factory and suddenly coming face-to-face with the lion. Startled, he dashed back inside while the lion, equally spooked, fled toward the forest.
Factory owner Sagar Kotecha said lions had been sighted in the area for several days. “Since this is a forest region, it’s common for lions to appear late at night or early morning, but seeing one so close at that hour is rare. The man panicked and ran, and the lion turned away just as quickly,” he told India Today.
Kotecha added that lions often pass by the factory gate but have never harmed anyone. “No matter how common they are here, if a lion crosses your path, you can’t help but feel fear,” he said.
The video has sparked both unease and fascination online, highlighting how frequently humans and wildlife cross paths in Gujarat’s forested regions.
