The City District Education Office (DEO) has asked the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) to cancel the recognition of EduNova Higher Secondary School in Maninagar for breaking several rules and showing serious irregularities during an inspection.
According to a media report, the school has repeatedly changed the location of its playground since its approval—without permission—and currently has no sports ground at all. The lease for the ground it once claimed was cancelled in December 2020. Despite repeated requests, the school has not shared details of the fees it charges or given proper information about the classes it runs.
The inspection also found that the computer lab has far fewer computers than required, with poor space and ventilation, and the chemistry lab is in unsafe condition. The school has not provided a current building stability certificate.
During a surprise visit in May, the DEO found JEE-NEET coaching classes being held on campus after school hours, which is against the rules. Even after multiple requests, the trustees failed to provide any explanation.
Because of these violations, DEO Rohit Chaudhari has recommended that the school’s recognition be cancelled.
