Gujarat has been experiencing consistent and widespread rainfall this monsoon. On Sunday, between 6 am and 6 pm, Daskroi taluka in Ahmedabad recorded the highest rainfall in the state at nearly 10 inches. In Kheda district, Nadiad and Mahemdavad talukas also saw heavy showers, each receiving over 8 inches.
According to a media report, the State Emergency Operations Center in Gandhinagar, Matar taluka in Kheda received more than 7 inches of rain, while Vaso, Mahudha, and Kathlal reported over 5 inches. Umreth in Anand district and Kheda taluka saw about 4 inches each.
Rainfall data also shows:
- 8 talukas received more than 3 inches
- 18 talukas saw over 2 inches
- 30 talukas recorded more than 1 inch
- 112 talukas had less than 1 inch
By 6 pm Sunday, Gujarat had received 58% of its average seasonal rainfall. The Kutch region recorded the highest at 64%, while Saurashtra received the lowest at 54%.
