Rajasthan-based mentalist Suhani Shah, a viral sensation known for her mind-reading acts, has made history by winning the prestigious ‘Best Magic Creator 2025’ award at the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques (FISM)—widely regarded as the ‘Oscars for magicians.’
According to a media report, the global event was held in Torino, Italy, from July 14 to 19, bringing together top magicians from around the world. Suhani competed in the online magic category alongside renowned artists like Jack Rhodes (UK), Jason Ladanye (US), Jason Maher (Australia), and Mohammed Imani (Dubai).
With 2.1 million followers on Instagram (@thesuhanishah), Suhani’s mind-bending acts often feature stunned reactions from Indian and international celebrities.
Celebrating her win, she posted an emotional video on Instagram, captioned:
“Thank you for every clap, every message, every ounce of belief. We made history. Together.”
“To anyone out there holding on to a dream, keep going. Even when it feels impossible. Even when the world doubts you. Don’t do it for the applause, the views or the money. Do it because it’s what you love. Because it’s who you are. Because you wouldn’t know how to be anything else,” she added.
“Magic happens when you don’t stop…” she said.
Shah established herself as India’s first female mentalist, illusionist, and magician over 25 years ago.
Interestingly, her first ever show was held in Ahmedabad’s Thakorbhai Desai Hall back in 1997, according to her Wikipedia page.
In 2022, she did a 30-city tour, which was billed as the largest mentalism performance the nation had ever seen.
On completion of 25 years in her career back then, she had said, “It has been such a cherished learning curve all through these years. As a naive seven-year-old who started off as a starry-eyed girl enchanted by watching magic tricks on television to performing over 5,000 shows across the globe, it’s been such a fulfilling and nuanced joyride.”
“Completing 25 years in the business this year has made me realise that even though I don’t have academic laurels backing my legacy, I have always enjoyed the unconditional support of the audience which is a priceless aspect that I am very grateful for. Today, 25 years later, I still feel like the same spellbound seven-year-old girl who revels in the excitement of watching audiences getting floored by all the magic effects,” she had said.
