IITRAM, located in Maninagar, Ahmedabad, inaugurated its newly constructed Girls’ Hostel, Boys’ Hostel, and E-1 Type Staff Quarters today. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Rushikesh Patel, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Government of Gujarat (Health and Family Welfare; Medical Education; Higher and Technical Education; Law, Justice, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs), who served as the Chief Guest. Shri Mukesh Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Education Department, Government of Gujarat (Primary and Secondary Education; Additional Charge: Higher and Technical Education), was present as the Guest of Honor. Spread across 2.75 acres, the new housing complex includes a Boys’ Hostel with a total capacity of 976 students, a Girls’ Hostel accommodating 288 students, and Faculty Quarters (3 BHK flats). Additionally, the complex also has a Guest House with a occupancy of 56. The complex is equipped with modern facilities such as a swimming pool, reading room, entertainment room, and dedicated study areas.Prof. Pramod K. Jain, Director General of IITRAM, welcomed the dignitaries and presented an overview of the institute’s vision and ongoing initiatives. Emphasizing IITRAM’s focus on infrastructure-related education, skill development, and research, he stated, “Our goal is to be a key source of trained manpower for India’s infrastructure development.” He also noted that the addition of the new hostels will help attract students from across the country.Ms. Riya Modi, Superintendent Engineer, Roads and Buildings Department, briefed the attendees about the architectural and functional features of the new housing complex.

Shri Mukesh Kumar, IAS, who also served as the institute’s first Director General, recounted the early challenges of acquiring land for the housing project. He reaffirmed IITRAM’s mission to be a hub for infrastructure development and expressed confidence that the new facilities would attract top talent from across India.In his address, Shri Rushikesh Patel, Honorable Cabinet Minister, GoG, acknowledged the institute’s efforts in expanding its infrastructure. He encouraged the management to explore innovative avenues for resource generation, such as launching new academic programs both in online and offline.The event marked a significant milestone in IITRAM’s journey toward becoming a premier institution for infrastructure education and research.
