The automobile sector is showing strong signs of recovery, with vehicle sales in June 2025 witnessing notable growth compared to the same month last year.
According to a media report, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), car and two-wheeler sales in Gujarat rose significantly. In June 2025, 25,257 cars and over 1 lakh two-wheelers were sold, compared to 23,214 cars and more than 84,000 two-wheelers in June 2024 — marking a year-on-year growth of 8.8% for cars and 18.63% for two-wheelers.
Overall vehicle sales in Gujarat across all segments grew nearly 13%, increasing from over 1.24 lakh units in June 2024 to more than 1.4 lakh in June 2025. Nationally, vehicle sales also improved by 5%, with 20 lakh vehicles sold in June 2025 compared to over 19 lakh during the same period last year.
FADA Gujarat Chairperson Pranav Shah told Mirror that after a brief dip over the previous two months, Gujarat’s auto retail sector bounced back strongly across most categories — with the exception of tractors. “However, the year-on-year comparison may not be entirely accurate, as the Rathyatra festival, a major driver of vehicle sales, was held in July last year,” he explained. Shah added that with a favorable monsoon and improving economic conditions, the outlook for the upcoming festive season remains positive.
While tractor sales in Gujarat fell sharply by 58% in June 2025 compared to June 2024, they rose by nearly 9% across India. In contrast, construction equipment vehicle sales surged — registering a 71% increase in Gujarat and 54% nationally. Commercial vehicle sales also saw modest gains, up by over 3% in Gujarat and 6.6% across India during the same period.
