The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) welcomed 460 students into two of its flagship programmes on June 18, 2025. This includes the 62nd batch of the two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and 46 students admitted to the 26th batch of the two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management (PGP-FABM).
Delivering the inaugural address, Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM-A, said, “You have arrived at a platform that has been producing leaders for six decades. During this time, IIM-A has not only produced leaders but also the methodology that enables this transformation in people. Our alumni have made their mark in various domains, and as you step into their shoes, you are stepping into a legacy of excellence”.
Engineers win the race
The PGP batch of 2025–27 at IIM-A comprises 30% women, while the PGP-FABM batch has a higher representation, with 45.65% women among its 46 students. In terms of professional experience, 27% of PGP students are fresh graduates, and 72% have prior work experience. For the PGP-FABM programme, 60% are freshers and 40% bring previous work experience.
Among the newly admitted PGP-MBA students, 50% come from engineering or technical backgrounds, with the remaining half representing non-engineering fields—highlighting the academic diversity of the incoming class.
