Navjot Singh Sidhu is all set to make a grand comeback to the comedy stage as he joins The Great Indian Kapil Show as a ‘permanent guest’. The former cricketer, politician, and popular television personality will once again share screen space with host Kapil Sharma, rekindling their well-known on-screen camaraderie.
This marks Sidhu’s first appearance on the Netflix edition of the show, although he was a prominent face on Kapil’s earlier programs, including the much-loved Comedy Nights with Kapil. His return comes years after he stepped away from the format, with Archana Puran Singh taking over the judge’s seat following his exit from television amid political controversies.
In a newly released promo for the upcoming season, Kapil is seen teasing Archana about a “big surprise”. The moment Sidhu walks in, Archana is visibly stunned, even pretending to faint at the revelation. Kapil jokingly warns her that Sidhu might take over and not let her get a word in anymore.
True to his flamboyant style, Sidhu delivers a witty shayari that sets the tone for the laughter-filled episodes to come. Kapil Sharma, expressing his delight at Sidhu’s return, said, “We had promised that every ‘funnyvaar’ our family would grow. I’m thrilled to have Sidhu paaji back with us along with Archana ji, enjoying all the jokes, shayaris, and madness. The stage is set — this season, the laughter and fun have tripled!”
