The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has suggested giving up to 18 grace marks to diploma engineering students who gave the Applied Mathematics exam last week.
An official said that a meeting was held on Thursday to discuss the issue, and the committee recommended giving grace marks. However, the final decision will be made after the GTU registrar and Vice-Chancellor approve it.
The meeting also decided to inform the Department of Technical Education in Gandhinagar about the mistake in the exam paper. The teacher responsible for the errors has already been identified. That teacher will not be allowed to take part in any exam-related work for the next two years. Also, the money paid to them for setting GTU question papers over the past three years will be taken back.
