Sambar Café, the destination for authentic South Indian cuisine in Ahmedabad, is set to delight food lovers with Mango Madness, a culinary celebration that will showcase mango in over 20 traditional dishes.
The specially curated menu, featuring both raw and ripe mango delights including Mambazha Payasam, Mambazha Sambar, Mangai Sadam (Mango Rice), Mambazha Pulissery, Mangai Chammanthi (Chutney), Mambazha Thair Sadam (Curd Rice), Mambazha Rasam, and Mambazha Jigarthanda, alongside classic accompaniments such as Vazhakkai Varuval, Beetroot Thoran, Keerai Kootu, and Mambazha Pachad, will be served on banana leaves.
Mrs Jayanti Santosh, Founder of Sambar Café, said, “Mango holds a cherished place in South Indian kitchens during the summer season. With Mango Madness, we want to bring that emotion alive on every banana leaf through a thoughtfully curated spread of mango-infused South Indian delicacies that celebrate both tradition and flavour. We invite food lovers to savour the season’s most beloved fruit through a uniquely South Indian lens at Mango Madness.”
The festival will also pay homage to the mango’s deep cultural roots, name derived from the Tamil word “Mangai”, and its timeless role in traditional South Indian cuisine.
The mango festival will take place at Sambar Café’s Ghuma-Manipur branch over select slots. Patrons can indulge in the unique delicacies at dinner on May 24, 30 and 31 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and lunch on May 25 and June 1 between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm.
