Ahmedabad City Police Now Cover Some Areas of Rural Gandhinagar

The Gujarat government has expanded the jurisdiction of the Ahmedabad City Police Commissionerate, bringing areas like Bhat Circle and Koteshwar—previously under Ahmedabad Rural and Gandhinagar district—under its control. The state home department issued an official notification on Tuesday.

Earlier, there had been confusion among Gandhinagar Police, Ahmedabad City Police, and Ahmedabad Rural Police about which force had authority over certain areas.

Because the SP Ring Road runs through areas under three different police jurisdictions, residents often faced confusion and difficulty in filing complaints.

To resolve this, the Ahmedabad City Police jurisdiction now includes areas such as the SP Ring Road and Ranasan (previously under Dabhoda Police Station), as well as Bhat Circle and Koteshwar (earlier under Adalaj Police Station).

Ahmedabad City Police jurisdiction areas:

Sector-1, Zone-2:

Ring Road from Apollo Circle to Tapovan Circle including both service roads. Except for the right side service road from Apollo Circle to Indira Bridge, the area includes Koteshwar village and surrounding regions. From Tapovan Circle to Zundal Circle, up to the midpoint of Tragad underpass including the Ring Road and service roads. From the midpoint of Tragad underpass to the midpoint of Vaishnodevi underpass including Ring Road, service roads, and Khoraj village and its outskirts.

(From Gandhinagar’s Adalaj Police Station to Ahmedabad’s Chandkheda Police Station)

(From Gandhinagar Adalaj Police Station to Ahmedabad’s Sola Police Station)

Sector-1, Zone-7:

From Hebatpur cut to the midpoint of Shilaj Bridge on Ring Road and service roads. From Hebatpur cut via Shilaj Circle to under the Shilaj Bridge, up to the railway track on the Ahmedabad city side including the inner Ring Road area.

Sector-2, Zone-4:

From Naroda towards Mota Chiloda up to the northern side of the overbridge at Ranasan Circle, and up to the service road area adjoining survey numbers of Ranasan and Valad Gram Panchayat.

(From Gandhinagar’s Dabhoda Police Station to Ahmedabad’s Naroda Police Station)
