Tightening security at Ahmedabad railway station, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and other agencies have stepped up safety measures, with police deployed at all entry and exit points.
Baggage is being screened using scanners and hand-held metal detectors. A special armed Quick Response Team (QRT) has also been deployed to provide 24/7 security at the station.
RPF and GRP are doing regular flag marches and anti-sabotage checks using dog squads and HHMDs. CCTV cameras and modern equipment are being used to watch over station activities. Announcements are being made regularly to inform passengers about safety steps.
Railway officials are working closely with police and intelligence agencies to stay alert and respond quickly to any threat.
As part of the security measures, 175 Civil Defence Volunteers from Western Railway conducted mock drills at 20 different locations.
