In the Rander, Surat, miscreants mercilessly assaulted an elderly security guard on Saturday. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, and police have launched an investigation based on the footage and eyewitness accounts.
According to reports, a 77-year-old Bhailal Prajapati was on duty as a security guard at Malaviya Hospital on Anand Mahal Road in Surat on Saturday.
During his shift, two men arrived in a car and stopped in the hospital parking lot to urinate. When Prajapati stopped them from urinating there, one of them got furious and brutally assaulted him. The attacker grabbed the elderly security guard by the leg, dragged him onto the road, and repeatedly kicked and punched him. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.
Upon witnessing the violence, two women and some bystanders intervened to save the security guard. However, he sustained head injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The Rander police have registered a case against the unknown assailants and launched an extensive investigation.
They are analysing CCTV footage and eyewitness statements to identify the culprits. Since the police have the car’s registration number, it may help in tracking and apprehending the attackers soon.
