Continuing its tradition to honour outstanding women achievers from various fields, Udgam Charitable Trust presented the “Udgam Women’s Achievers” Award at the 16th edition of “Usha Parv” on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Saturday.

The trust celebrates “Usha Parv” in memory of Udgam trustee Ushaben Dhruvkumar Joshi.Thirty-one women and one man were honoured for their outstanding contributions to business, social service, education, healthcare, arts, fashion and other fields.Dharmishta Gajjar, Chairperson of the Gujarat State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, was the chief guest at the function. Special guests included, MD of PC Snehal Group, and social activist Asha Sarvaiya.Dr. Mayur Joshi, Managing Trustee of Udgam Trust, spoke about the trust’s humble effort to uphold the tradition of respecting women by recognising their exceptional contributions in various areas and honouring them with the “Udgam Women’s Achievers” Award for the last 15 years.Chief guest Dharmishta Gajjar acknowledged the unparalleled role of women in all sectors and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to and initiatives for women’s empowerment, which have created more opportunities for them.The recipients of the Udgam Women’s Achievers Award were selected by a jury. The Smt. Ushaben Joshi Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr. Neerja Gupta, Sushila Thorat, Vidya Pasari and Manju Nandan Mehta. The Hall of Fame Award was presented to Dr. Viraj Amar Bhatt and Jaishree Lalbhai.Jiya Shailesh, Ami Shah and Mital Rana were awarded in the category of social work. Everester Nisha Kumari and Pinky Jha were honoured for their contributions to the field of sports. Kusum Suthar (environment), Gira Bhatt (literature), Dr. Kalindi Bhatt (literature), Rasikba Kesariya (fashion), Sneha Acharya (fashion) and Kruti Patel (corporate sector) were the other award recipients.Nital Shah of Nityaveda (entrepreneurship), Manisha Shukla, Purvi Maniar and Amisha Raval (education), Ritu Shah and Riya Mulchandi (culinary arts), Lipi Goyal (media), Gargi Thakkar and Pina Patel (arts & culture), Darshana Gandhi Thakkar (music), Anvi Agarwal, Kresha Gupta and Chef Karnavi Mehta (young achievers) and Deepal Sindha and Dr. Brinda Shah (health & fitness) were the other award recipients. Archit Bhatt was honoured with the Men’s Award for Women’s Empowerment.

The jury included businesswoman and social worker Purva Shah Patel, AMA Executive Director Unmesh Dixit, social workers Hetal Amin, Asha Sarvaiya, Paramjit Kaur Chhabra, and writer Vaijayanti Gupta. The event was hosted by Devendra Parekh.
