GLS University’s Faculty of Commerce, under the auspices of ‘Kshitij A Career Carving Cell,’ which invites various expert speakers to share their knowledge and instill values in the minds of this millennial generation, hosted a career enrichment workshop on ‘How to Create and Use a Good Resume’ by speaker Ujjwal Nagar. Nagar stated that a resume should not be generic.
Instead, it should be tailor-made to fit the specific job and highlight the skills, qualifications, and experiences that align with the role. This personalisation enhances the chances of standing out in the competitive job market. The workshop also delved into different styles of resumes, namely chronological, functional/skill-based, and a combination of both.
One key aspect emphasised was the importance of using the right words. The resume should not simply list tasks and responsibilities but should highlight accomplishments and achievements, providing measurable outcomes to showcase the candidate’s impact.
