Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the two-day state-level Millet Mahotsav and Natural Farmer’s Market in Ahmedabad in the presence of Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel. The event, held across seven municipal corporations in Gujarat, aims to promote millets and natural farming practices as part of a healthier lifestyle initiative.
The programme is being organised by the State Agriculture Department.
The CM and other dignitaries visited various millet sales and exhibition stalls. Patel emphasised that by promoting natural farming, the nation has been turned toward a healthier lifestyle. He highlighted the significance of coarse grains, which have been an integral part of India’s traditional diet for centuries. He also urged the adoption of cow-based natural farming, moving away from chemical-based agricultural practices.
CM Patel also e-inaugurated three godown complexes in Ahmedabad and one in Jamnagar under the Gujarat State Seeds Corporation Limited.
Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel spoke about the benefits of millet farming for farmers, the soil and consumers. He pointed out that millets are highly nutritious, promoting health benefits for all age groups, from children to the elderly.
