Gujarat will receive Rs 49,472 crore from the Centre as part of the tax distribution among states following the Union Budget for 2025-26. This amount is Gujarat’s share of the various taxes collected by the Centre, such as corporation tax, income tax, GST, Customs duty, excise duty, service tax, and other taxes.
The Finance Commission has set Gujarat’s share at 3.478%, which means the state will get this percentage from the total taxes collected from it. This amount will be recorded as revenue income in Gujarat’s state budget, which will be presented in the State Assembly on February 20, 2025.
Breakdown of tax share
For 2025-26, Gujarat will receive
Rs 13,814.45 crore from corporation tax
Rs 18,432.50 crore from income tax
Rs 14,402.75 cr from central GST
Rs 2,277.12 cr from Customs duty
Rs 473.07 cr from excise duty
Rs 1.43 crore from service tax
Rs 71.30 crore from other taxes
Last year, Gujarat was allocated Rs 44,757 crore in 2024-25, and the final disbursed amount will be clear by March 2025. Compared to last year, Gujarat will get Rs 4,715 crore more this time.
Tax distribution
The Centre will distribute Rs 14,22,444 crore among all states in 2025-26. The highest share will go to Uttar Pradesh (Rs 2,55,172 crore), followed by Bihar (Rs1,43,069 crore), Madhya Pradesh (Rs 1,11,661 crore), West Bengal (Rs 1,07,010 crore), and Maharashtra (Rs 89,855 crore). Rajasthan, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka are also among the top recipients.
