A 32-year-old man from Surat passed away after reportedly experiencing seizures following an overdose of MD (3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) drugs, according to his family.
According to reports from New Civil Hospital, Nawaz Khan Pathan, a 32-year-old resident of Sanjar nagar, Unn, was admitted to a private hospital on the night of January 20, after his health suddenly deteriorated under mysterious circumstances. Despite treatment, he passed away on January 26.
Family members had informed that Pathan suffered a seizure due to an overdose of MD drugs, leading to his deteriorating condition and death. Previously addicted to alcohol, Pathan had reportedly started using MD drugs in the past 15-20 days, which worsened his health.
Following these serious allegations, the local police launched an investigation.
The hospital doctors also mentioned that Pathan had injected an intoxicating substance into his left arm, which triggered the seizures and worsened his condition. However, the exact cause of death will only be determined after the postmortem report is released.
Doctors at the Civil Hospital performed the postmortem and collected histopathology, chemical, urine, and blood samples. A small portion of the skin from the injection site on his left arm was also sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further analysis.
