A rescue operation was underway to save a 22-year-old woman trapped in a borewell, but despite the tireless efforts of the NDRF, BSF, fire department, army, and local administration, the woman succumbed to her injuries.
After being trapped for hours in the borewell, her body reportedly swelled, making it difficult to rescue her. After 34 hours of intense rescue operations, the woman was finally pulled from the borewell.
Authorities stated that the cause of her death will be determined after the post-mortem is conducted.
The incident took place in Khandherai village near Bhuj, Gujarat. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Indra Meena, originally hailed from Pratapgarh, Rajasthan. She had been living with her cousin, who works for Ramesh Thakkar, the owner of the farm where the incident occurred.
On Monday morning, Meena and her sister had gone out to relieve themselves, but Meena did not return home. After a while, the family heard her cries for help, prompting locals to gather at the scene and contact the authorities.
