Rs 2,383cr redevpt project to feature eco-friendly design, modern facilities and seamless connectivity; likely to be finished by 2027
Kalupur Railway Station is set K for a major transformation, with the redevelopment project expected to be completed by June 5, 2027. A 3D model of the revamped station was unveiled at a press conference. The event was ad- dressed by Sudhir Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager of Western Rail ways, Vineet Abhishek, Public Re lations Officer, and Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Project Manager at RLDA.
The Rs 2,383 crore project aims to make the station a world-class transit hub. The total built-up area will be 2,47,116 square meters, including a unified concourse over the tracks spanning 54,900 square meters. The concourse will offer segregated areas for arrivals and departures, ensuring smooth passenger movement. In addition, 11,494 square meters of retail space will be developed to enhance passenger convenience.
A key highlight is the creation of a Multimodal Transit Hub, covering 90,460 square meters. It will integrate commercial spaces, including four- star hotels, and offer modern amenities like 3,316 parking units and three designated pick-up and drop-off bays. An elevated road network will connect the station seamlessly with the city’s east and west sides. A 181-meter pedestrian and vehicular tunnel will further improve connectivity.
